The Challenger Shakedown is the first of the series to be revealed, and limited to 1,000 units – 500 each for the Regular and Widebody variants – it is a production version of the Challenger Shakedown concept that showed up at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) show.

Challenger Shakedown production uses the R/T Scat package as its basis. It comes equipped with the optional Plus and Technology kits, as well as the Nav, Carbon/Suede and Dynamics packages. Regular-width models are painted Destroyer Gray, while the Widebody version will be Pitch Black.

Along with a range of R/T Scat Pack options, the Challenger Shakedown will be equipped with a shaker cap, intake and six-piston Brembo brakes and 20-inch wheels. Widebody versions will use the Carbon Black Warp Speed ​​wheel style, while the regular body variant will get the low gloss black Slingshot style.

A number of graphics and decals will help identify the Special Edition, including red “392” graphics on the fenders, a “Shaker” decal under the hood, a unique “Shakedown” stripe with a red accent that runs from the hood to the tail, and a unique Black Challenger R/T badge. On the grille and “Shakedown” graphics on the rear wing. Like every 2023 Challenger and Charger, the Challenger Shakedon also gets a commemorative “Last Call” plaque under the hood.

Inside, the Challenger Shakedown gets premium Nappa leather and Alcantara upholstery with red stitching throughout the cabin, Demonic red seat belts and a unique “Shakedown” badge on the dashboard.

The 2023 Challenger Shakedown will be available in Spring 2023, with pricing available closer to when orders open in the fall. All 1000 models, like every 2023 Challenger and Charger model, will be assigned to specific dealerships.
