2022 North American International Auto Show: Everything You Missed Detroit’s history is primarily marked by the genesis of the American auto industry, and while Motor City has certainly earned its nickname as the birthplace of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler, it has also seen its share of hardship and turmoil over the years.
