the outside

On the outside, the Equinox EV has a fairly standard SUV silhouette, eschewing the type of semi-hatchback that seems common among EVs for something more traditional. The front design lacks a traditional front grille, the most obvious indication that the Equinox EV is all-electric. The Equinox EV rides on standard 19-inch wheels, with 20 and 21 inches available on select classes. In addition, fans of the two-tone look can choose a white roof on the LT or a black roof on the RS.

interior

The Equinox EV is fairly traditional on the inside as well, with no futuristic gimmicks readily apparent. The styling is simple, although like the exterior, the RS’s interior has a sporty look. An available 17.7-inch touchscreen dominates the dashboard (an 11-inch screen is standard), and Chevy says convenience and comfort features like a heated steering wheel and heated front and rear seats are available. Engines, rated range and freight

Every Equinox EV will come standard with front-wheel drive and a single-engine powertrain; All-wheel drive is optional, adding a second electric motor. Chevrolet hasn’t yet released detailed powertrain specifications, but it says the single-engine FWD setup should produce 210 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque, with the dual-motor AWD system producing 290 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque.

With the standard range battery, Chevrolet estimates that the base 1LT FWD Equinox EV should achieve a maximum range of 250 miles; The long-range battery increases that number to 300 miles, and with AWD, Chevrolet estimates a maximum range of 280 miles. The long-range battery is available on 1LT FWD and standard on all other variants. One-pedal driving is also standard, and both the available built-in navigation and the MyChevy app can plan routes based on charging needs.

Either way, Chevrolet says the Equinox EV can charge either 11.5 (standard) or 19.2 kW (3RS eAWD), adding up to 34 or 51 miles of range per hour, respectively. A 150-kilowatt standard can add 70 miles of range in 10 minutes, according to the manufacturer’s estimates.
