2024 Maserati GranTurismo: Amore, Now With Fewer Cylinders After a half-decade hiatus, Maserati’s GranTurismo coupe returns for 2024 with the same stunning exterior and updated interior – but without the V-8 engine.
2024 Maserati GranTurismo: Amore, Now With Fewer Cylinders
The GranTurismo 2024 will come in three flavors. The base model is the Modena, which uses the less powerful V-6, pumping out just 490 horsepower on the way to a 3.9-second 0-62 mph sprint. Trofeo’s high-performance V-6 produces 550 horsepower and cuts the time from 0-62 to 3.5 seconds. Both use an eight-speed automatic transmission and air springs, along with six-piston Brembo brakes at the front and four-piston brakes at the rear.
The most significant of the three will be the all-electric GranTurismo Folgore (Italian for “Lightning”). Maserati says the Volgor uses 800-volt engineering and its three electric motors (one in the front and two in the rear) produce approximately 760 horsepower at the wheels. The 92.5 kWh battery pack is housed in what Maserati calls a “T-bone” configuration: in the central tunnel where a conventional transmission would have been. This helps Folgore maintain the same design as the gas-powered GranTurismos, but may affect the interior space.
