  • latch: Two sets of anchors are displayed for easy access and connection. There are also two upper stabilizers installed in the middle of the seat back, they are clearly marked and easy to use.
  • infant seat: This seat was easy to install and fit well. The 5-foot-6 front passenger had plenty of legroom with the seat installed behind them.
  • Convertible Back Facing: Once again, installation was problem-free and our front passenger had comfortable legroom.
  • forward convertible: The Hellcat’s fixed headrests are small, so they don’t interfere with fitting the convertible forward against the seatback when the convertible’s back is at its lowest. The fixed headrest may push the back of the convertible away from the back of the SUV seat, however, if the convertible is modified to accommodate a taller child.

mark b

  • Supporter: In the second row, the booster fixed headrest is pushed slightly away from the seat back, and the booster seat should sit on the seat back. The Hellcat’s short but stable stems should be easy for kids to grasp and use independently.
  • 3rd grade access: The second-row captain’s chairs pop forward and flip easily to provide a sized opening for the third row. A walkway between chairs can also be used. The gradient is rather long, so young children may need help.
  • 3rd row convertible forward: Since there were no bottom mounts in the third row, we installed the convertible, and that was easy. The third row has two overhead rope anchors that are partially blocked by a carpeted upholstery flap, complicating access and connection.
  • Booster, third row: Once again, the fixed headrests in the third row overlapped with the enhanced flow positioning on the seat backs. Stable buckles should be easy for children to understand.

About Car Seat Inspection

Editors Jennifer Geiger and Jennifer Newman are certified child safety seat installers.

For the car seat inspection, we use the KeyFit 30 infant safety seat, the Contender 65 convertible seat, and the Graco TurboBooster seat. The front seats adjust for a 6-foot-tall driver and a shorter passenger. Three child seats are installed in the second row. The booster seat is behind the driver’s seat, and infant seats and convertible seats are mounted behind the front passenger seat.

We also install the forward-facing convertible in the second-row center seat with the booster seat and child seat in the outer seats to see if; A child in a booster seat must have access to the seat belt buckle. If there is a third row, we install a booster seat and a convertible front seat. Learn more about .
