How Do Car Seats Fit in a 2022 Hyundai Venue?

Editor’s note: This car seat inspection was written in May 2021 about the 2021 Hyundai Venue; Little bit of substance has changed with this year’s model. See or check out the two-year model.

Verdict: Hyundai’s smallest SUV, the SUV, extends the definition of an SUV with its front-wheel drive platform only. Installing car seats in the back seat was also an extended extension. Although the Venue’s lower latch anchors were easy to reach, legroom was a major issue.

Degree

  • latch: The two sets of lower latch anchors were partially exposed and easy to use. Three upper hitch anchors are located halfway under the seat back. It is also clearly marked and easy to use.
  • forward convertible: After removing the headrest, this seat fits well. We had no trouble installing it thanks to Venue’s easy anchor setup.

  • infant seat: Installation was hassle-free, but legroom for our 5-foot-6-inch front passenger was an issue once the seat in the back row was installed. Her knees were uncomfortably close to the glove box.
  • Supporter: We removed the headrest to lay the booster flat against the seat back. The buckles are hinged and slide down into the upholstery pockets, making them difficult to grab. The buckle strap in the middle area also covers the driver’s side buckle and crowds the total space allotted to it, complicating access to it.

D . degree

  • Convertible Back Facing: This seat was easy to install, but we had major legroom issues. We had to move the front passenger seat forward as far as it would go to make room for the car seat behind. As such, the front passenger had to sit with her knees laterally opposite the glove box.

a: Plenty of space for a car and baby seat; It does not affect the driver’s or front passenger’s legroom. It is easy to find and connect latch and bolt anchors. There are no headrest or seat fitting issues. Easy access to the third row.

For the car seat inspection, we use the KeyFit 30 infant safety seat, the Contender 65 convertible seat, and the Graco TurboBooster seat. The front seats adjust for a 6-foot-tall driver and a shorter passenger. Three child seats are installed in the second row. The booster seat is behind the driver’s seat, and infant seats and convertible seats are mounted behind the front passenger seat.

We also install the forward-facing convertible in the second-row center seat with the booster seat and child seat in the outer seats to see if; A child in a booster seat must have access to the seat belt buckle.
