If you only knew the ingredients… Number one cause of bowel cancer: Worse than poison

Colon cancer, also known as colon cancer, is one of the most common types of cancer. Although the exact cause of cancer is unknown, long-term studies have revealed that diet has a serious effect on inducing cancer. If you frequently consume foods such as sweets, biscuits, pizza, cereal and soft drinks, new research suggests that you may be more likely to develop bowel cancer.

Ready meal is an important risk factor

The US study examined 160,000 women and 46,000 men over nearly three decades and found that 3,216 of them developed bowel cancer. Among the number of cases, researchers found diets were a major risk factor, with 29% of men consuming ultra-processed foods at risk of developing bowel cancer.

The study also found that women who ate large amounts of fast food had a 17% increased risk of developing bowel cancer.

What are very processed foods?

Homemade meals do not contain the chemicals, harmful additives, and sweeteners found in ultra-processed foods. Ingredients you wouldn’t normally add to your food are abundant in ultra-processed foods.

What ultra-processed foods are most consumed?

  • Instant noodles and soups
  • fast food
  • packed snacks
  • Soft or sugary drinks
  • Cakes, biscuits and sweets
  • Pre-processed foods like pizza, pasta, and hamburgers.

These foods can be inexpensive, convenient, and delicious. But it does pack a lot of calories in every bite, which means you have to eat a lot before you feel full. Ultra-processed foods have become a part of everyday life. By examining data from nearly 23,000 participants, the study found that adults with lower quality and higher consumption of ultra-processed diets were more likely to die during the study’s follow-up period.
