The 5 slowest cars compete to slow you down

Some may view the slowness of the car as a defect in it, but others see important practical features in it for their daily lives, especially in cities, such as its small size and high fuel-saving capabilities in light of the current economic crisis that affects the core of the pockets of most families around the world.

In this regard, CoPilotSearch, citing Pixabay, listed the slowest cars in existence today.
1 – Peel P50

With a top speed of 38 mph, it is the slowest car in the world, but it also holds the Guinness World Record as the smallest production vehicle ever at 54 inches long and 39 wide.

It is a small three-wheeled car that was first produced in 1962 by Peel Engineering and sold in 1965. Then, in 2011, the company began manufacturing its modern model, the B50, again.

It is also designed as a city car that can seat one adult with a shopping bag. At the same time, it can also claim the title of the most famous small car, which was famously driven by Jeremy Clarkson in one of the episodes of “Top Gear”.
2- Renault Twizy 45

A small electric car announced by the French manufacturer “Renault” as a light quad bike. This two-seater boasts a pint, 5.4 gross horsepower and a top speed of 28 mph. However, it is worth noting that Twizy’s top speed is electronically limited.

The Renault Twizy 45 is a charming little unit, but it certainly isn’t the most practical electric car out there, especially with its total range of 62 miles on a charge. For example, it offers its owner the most basic features available in quad bikes.

But in fact, some drivers had to use an electric blanket that was plugged in just to be able to drive this car through the freezing months.

However, Twizy is still an excellent tool for young drivers if they want to learn and practice the rules of driving on the road. One of the advantages of this small electric car is that it is affordable at 10,300 euros.
3 – Aixam Coupe

Another small French car with a top speed of 28 miles per hour, but at least this time, it looks like a real car, not a toy. To drive it is to be at least 16 years old and pass a bike test.

It has a 400cc two-cylinder diesel engine and, like many of the vehicles on this list, has an electronically limited top speed of 30mph and a total of 5.6bhp.

Also, like many of the vehicles presented here, the vehicle can be a practical choice for young drivers who are road training or those who live in areas with narrow streets where they don’t have to worry about parking. This car is an excellent alternative to the Twizy, but it is also slightly more expensive.
4 – Tata Nano

Its top speed is 55 miles per hour, and it has earned the title of the cheapest car in the world, which is natural because it is the slowest car. Discontinued in 2018, it was a compact car, its first version was priced at just $1,400, could seat up to 4 passengers, had a simple basic dashboard, and had first-class fuel economy.

The car comes with a 0.624-liter twin-cylinder engine that delivers 37 horsepower and 38 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 55 mph. Although it is one of the fastest cars on this list, it is still quite slow as it will take 29.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph.
5 – Smart Fortwo CDI

Smart car has a top speed of 84 miles per hour. When launched, smart cars were never popular, but they clearly have a dedicated following, and many observers believe that the Smart Fortwo CDI remains unique and that is the reason for its inclusion on this list.

Although it is the fastest car in this category, it definitely remains among the slowest cars in the world. Although only a few of them were sold on the European continent, they did not spread widely in the United States, but many communities dedicated to this smart car can be found around the world.

As for its specifications, it was equipped with a turbocharged inline-diesel engine rated at 45 horsepower and a top speed of 84 mph. And with its ability to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 19.5 seconds, it is a worthy addition to this list.

Unfortunately, many drivers commented on its awkward ride and small, cramped interior. In general, the car may not provide the excitement of most modern vehicles, but it compensates its driver by reducing his fuel bill.
