Nissan Expands Recall for Frontier, Titan Over Transmission Issue

Nissan Expands Recall for Frontier, Titan Over Transmission Issue It’s been a relatively quiet year on the recall front for Nissan, but for the second time this summer, two panels of the automaker’s pickup trucks are being recalled. Since it was for more than 180,000 Frontier and Titan pickups, the problem this time for more than 203,200 trucks stems from a transportation problem that could cause a rollover.

The population affected in the 2020-23 Frontiers and Titans model year expands when June is called. The transmission parking stem may not engage when the vehicle is parked, which could cause the vehicle to roll, increasing the risk of a collision. Nissan says the investigation is ongoing, but the malfunction appears different from the one that struck early residents, and hence the greater number of trucks affected.

As it was in June, Nissan is still developing a remedy, and owners are advised to use the parking brake every time they park their truck. Owners will be notified November 1, but those with questions can call the automaker at 800-867-7669, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 or to check it out and learn more.
